Contracted service providers provide IT services or health information management services relating to the My Health Record system to healthcare provider organisations, and interact with the My Health Record system on their behalf.

This page provides details on how to register as a contracted service provider for the My Health Record system.

Contracted service provider registration

Your organisation needs to register to participate as a contracted service provider (CSP) if:

  • Your organisation will provide IT services or health information management services relating to the My Health Record system to a healthcare provider organisation; and

  • Will interact with the My Health Record system using your identity on behalf of the registered healthcare provider organisation.

To start participating in the My Health Record system, follow the steps below. 

1. Register

Register as a CSP organisation in the My Health Record system:

1. Print the Application to register a contracted service provider organisation:

  • if your organisation is not already registered in the Healthcare Identifiers Service (HI Service) complete Part A (Healthcare Identifiers Service) and Part B (Acceptable referee identification)
  • complete Part C (My Health Record system registration) to register as a CSP organisation in the My Health Record system
  • complete Part D (National Authentication Service for Health Public Key Infrastructure certificate) to apply for a NASH PKI certificate in order to access the My Health Record system.

2. Complete and sign the Participation agreement for contracted service provider.

3. Submit the forms (with any necessary supporting documentation) to the return address on the application form.

4. When your application has been processed and your organisation has been registered, a confirmation letter will be sent to your organisation. You will be issued with a CSP registration number and a NASH PKI certificate.

Once you have entered into a contract with a registered healthcare provider organisation, the registered healthcare provider organisation must notify the My Health Record System Operator that your organisation is authorised to act on its behalf in the My Health Record system.

In order to access the HI Service a separate link needs to be established with the HI Service Operator following these steps.

Connecting to the HI Service and the My Health Record system A CSP organisation may use their software to connect to the HI Service, the My Health Record system, or both.

Before connection, software products must undergo testing to make sure the software functions correctly.

  • Software used by CSP organisations to connect with the HI Service must have passed HI Service Notice of Connection (NOC), and Conformance, Compliance and Accreditation (CCA) testing.
  • Software used by CSP organisations to connect with the My Health Record system must have passed the My Health Record NOC, and Conformance, Compliance and Declaration (CCD) testing.
